Try and Try
February 23, 2011. Ms. Noveras handed out print out copies of previous blog entries. We read each one carefully and we found out that there were numerous grammatical errors in all the paperwork. We were tasked to determine the mistakes on the entries and correct them later on. During this activity, I realized that we still have so much to learn. Composing a good blog does not only mean writing what you had in mind. Composition of a good blog means giving consideration on how well it was written. Grammar, proper use of words, subject verb agreement, and the likes must also be well thought of. This will not only benefit the author but the reader as well. For the author, reflection of how well he or she writes a composition will be recognized. For the reader, his or her interest will surface once he or she realizes the article on hand is comprehensive. To be able to be competent in composition writing, I believed that the most effective way to attain such is by practicing and most important of all is to remember all the methods and techniques being taught to us in relation to blog composition.
Unforgettable Week
February 15, 2011. The sports filled event started off with the Cheer-dance. In this event, students showcased their talents in well coordinated dance moves. All teams performed well, however there must only be one winner in this category. Judges had to decide and 3 - Leah was proclaimed the champion for this incident. Second event that took place was the modern dance competition. Although the Juniors, obviously gave their all, the championship title was not for them. The 3rd activity that took place in this fun-filled event was the ballroom dancing. For this particular category, finally, all the hard work was rewarded. III - Rachel was awarded as champions. After all the different types of dancing took place, the next two days of our Foundation week was dedicated to Ball games. Although III - Rachel lost during the game of Basketball, they emerged as champions of Volleyball. Despite the losses, heat of the sun, and tiredness evident in those who participated in the events, everyone was still in high spirits. Smiles were across their faces meaning that they were happy and satisfied of the results because they gave their very best. Team work and being good sports were obviously embedded in each and every one.
Discrimination
Discrimination is negative in its own aspect. However, for me, I could honestly say that it made me in to a better, stronger individual. This is how it happened:
When I was in grade 5, I was skinny in nature. I was being tortured emotionally by my colleagues because of my thin built. I heard hurtful words that I am not being well cared of and not being fed well. As a result i seldom get invited to join group works specially those related to sports or any other extraneous activities. Admittedly, during my younger years i really had no appetite whatsoever because i'm more focused in doing other things. Come 6th grade, i made it a point to eat regularly and finish what's on my plate. The teasing became minimal, but it did not stop. I did not pay attention to all the teasing that i received from my schoolmates, what i did is to set my mind that I can perform at par with others. Being thin, will not make me perform less that what is expected from me. When i stepped into my freshman year, nothing changed in my built despite the vitamins and increase in my food intake. What I changed was my attitude and my outlook in life. I make it a point that whatever responsibility or endeavour that will be assigned to me, I will accomplish it with flying colors. No amount of discrimination, negativity, teasing, or bullying will affect my performance as a student, or as an individual. I owe this kind of attitude to my parents, who always reminded me to be strong, no matter what it takes.
